News The Tolerance Centre wins competition for 2014 Moscow City budget subsidies for non-commercial organisations involved in social work

The City of Moscow’s community connections committee has published the results of its competition for non-commercial organisations involved in social work. 104 submissions were considered, and the top ten finalists included the Tolerance Centre’s “5 Steps for Tolerance” programme for students of state funded institutions offering secondary level vocational education.  With the extra funding, new second-tier modules have been planned for the implementation of the programme, so that those who have created social projects in the current teaching year can continue their work and receive additional leadership skills next year, all alongside a fresh intake of participants from Moscow colleges for the first module of the course.

The programme’s work corresponds to the competition’s high priority section on “Cohesion and Interaction,” realising inter-ethnic, inter-faith and inter-cultural communication, peace and good will.

Such competition results indicate that the Centre of Tolerance’s activities are needed and important for various levels of the intended audience.  We are happy to have this acknowledged, and to continue working – for you!
